2020 NFL draft: Broncos would select 7th overall if season ended today

If the 2019 season ended today, the Denver Broncos would be awarded the seventh overall selection in the 2020 NFL draft. Here’s the current order for the top 10 picks, according to NFL.com:

  1. Miami Dolphins (0-6)
  2. Cincinnati Bengals (0-7)
  3. Washington Redskins (1-6)
  4. Atlanta Falcons (1-6)
  5. New York Jets (1-5)
  6. Los Angeles Chargers (2-5)
  7. Denver Broncos (2-5)
  8. New York Giants (2-5)
  9. Cleveland Browns (2-4)
  10. Dolphins (via Pittsburgh Steelers, 2-4)

The Broncos’ top needs appear to be on the offensive line, in the secondary, on the defensive line and perhaps quarterback — depending on if Drew Lock looks like a promising future prospect or not.

Some of the top prospects expected to be available in next year’s draft are Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Georgia offensive lineman Andrew Thomas, Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, LSU defensive back Grant Delpit and Clemson safety/linebacker Isaiah Simmons.

Denver acquired two draft picks in a trade with the 49ers on Tuesday and now has five picks in the first three rounds. The 2020 NFL draft will take place in Las Vegas from April 23-25.
