2020 DE/OLB Robert Wooten Gets Wisconsin Offer, Wants To Take Official Visit

Spending a good deal of time in the fertile recruiting state of Texas this week, Wisconsin wide receiver coach Ted Gilmore extended an offer to Stafford (TX) High defensive end/outside linebacker Robert Wooten on Tuesday.

A three-star prospect in the 2020 class, the 6-3, 215-pound Wooten had 79 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 11 sacks last season. He told Rivals.com following the offer from Gilmore that he wants to take an official visit to Madison.

“Coach Gilmore said he liked my size and ability to move around quick,” Wooten told Rivals. “They like me as a stand-up defensive end-type. I don’t know too much about Wisconsin right now, but I’ll be doing my research.”

Holding offers from Missouri, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and others, Wooten told Rivals that he’s going to take an official visit to SMU (this weekend), Missouri and Texas Tech. He plans to make his college choice in August.

The Badgers currently have six commitments in the 2020 class.
