– Unlike the Sun Belt Preseason Team Rankings – based on how good the teams are – these are all based on predicted finishes. Louisiana is the most dangerous team from the West to face, and Georgia State doesn’t have to deal with it. Arkansas State is nasty, too, but Appalachian State gets to miss the Red Wolves.
– Troy might not be quite as strong as it was last season, but it’ll still be a player in the East race. Here’s the problem – Appalachian State might have the East wrapped up by the time the showdown comes against the Trojans to close out the regular season. Georgia Southern has to go to ASU.
– Georgia State will be a bit more dangerous – even if its schedule is rocky enough to do anything big – and Coastal Carolina will come up with a few good performances despite the struggles to get wins.
