– Unlike the Big 12 Preseason Team Rankings – based on how good the teams are – these are all based on predicted finishes. Who has to play in Norman and Austin? Who has to play five Big 12 road games, and who gets four? Who gets time off before the big games, and who – like Kansas State and TCU – have a brutally long stretch of battles to close out the season?
– Over the last two seasons, a loss hasn’t been a deathblow in the title chase chances. However, unlike every other conference, it’s about finishing in the top two in a ten-team league as opposed to winning a five, six, or seven-team division to play in a championship. And unlike most of the other conferences, there just aren’t any real breaks.
– Okay, Kansas might not be a killer, but it’ll be tougher with Les Miles as the head man. The other nine teams are all dangerous, they’re all good enough to rise up and beat anyone else in the league, and they’re going to make it a fight each and every week in another fun and wild season.
