The Tennessee Titans will look to finish out the upcoming 2019 season with a better record than the 9-7 one they’ve finished with for the past three consecutive seasons as they look for go from “good to great.”
But this won’t be easy, as the Titans compete in a steadily improving AFC South division and face other teams on the schedule that aren’t nearly as weak as they’ve been in the past.
Here’s a look at three potentially difficult games for the Titans in 2019:
Sept. 8: at Cleveland Browns

Kicking off the season on the road isn’t easy, and this isn’t the same Browns team we’ve seen in the past. The pieces are finally coming together on offense for them between rising quarterback Baker Mayfield and the duo of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry at wide receiver.
While the Browns have delivered mostly poor performances over recent seasons, the Titans did give up some games that were expected to be easy wins over beatable teams. It will be interesting to see how the Titans fare in this one.
Sept. 15: vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Titans have never beaten the Colts with starting quarterback Andrew Luck at the helm. Indianapolis really gelled as a team last year, and has made some good moves in the offseason as well to come back even stronger.
Tennessee still has a bad taste in its mouth from the Week 17 loss at home in 2018 at home to this team that kept them out of playoffs. The Colts will be a difficult club for anyone to contend with, especially the Titans on their second game of the year.
Dec. 29: at Houston Texans

The Titans have historically struggled with divisional matchups, and this one against the Texans will likely be no different. The Titans won a game and lost another against Houston last year, struggling to find consistency against them.
The Texans are expected to come back even more stout on both fronts in 2019, and are sure to give the Titans a rough time late in the year at NRG Stadium.
