2019 NFL salary cap set at $188.2M

The Indianapolis Colts have been projected to have the most salary cap space in the NFL this offseason, and the estimates can now be adjusted as the league’s salary cap has been set at $188.2 million, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The league’s salary cap has been growing every season, and the official number falls right into the projections from earlier in the offseason.

The Colts are expected to have some of the most salary cap space in the NFL this offseason, which gives them the opportunity to sign just about any free agent should they feel the desire to do so.

However, it remains to be seen how active the Colts will be, especially when it comes to the blue chip free agents that are set to hit the market.

It has been made known over the past two offseasons that the Colts prefer to build major pieces through the draft while adding depth during free agency. That trend could continue this offseason, but there are a number of highly-touted free agents set to become available.

The new league year begins March 13, which is when the Colts can officially flex their abundant salary cap space.
