It’s Super Bowl week, and with the Senior Bowl now in the books, on-field action is winding down as the predraft process begins to heat up.
The next stop on the offseason calendar for this year’s top prospects will be the NFL Scouting Combine, where they’ll get to show off their raw athleticism and sit down with interviews with league decision-makers.
As January comes to a close, it’s time to take our first crack at projecting all seven rounds of the 2019 NFL draft:
(draft order courtesy of Tankathon)
1. Arizona Cardinals | Quinnen Williams | DL | Alabama
Nick Bosa is the odds-on favorite here, but the Cards already have one of the league’s best edge rushers in Chandler Jones. What they need is a dominant, disruptive force for the interior of their defensive line, and Williams is the perfect fit.
2. San Francisco 49ers | Nick Bosa | EDGE | Ohio State
This is a dream scenario for the 49ers, who get the best overall prospect in the draft, who also just happens to fill the team’s biggest need. Despite playing just a few games due to injury in 2018, Bosa is worthy of No. 1 overall consideration.
3. New York Jets | Josh Allen | EDGE | Kentucky
Similar to the 49ers, the Jets desperately need to come away from this pick with a difference-maker on the edge. Allen is a versatile weapon who was arguably the most dominant defender in all of college football last season.
4. Oakland Raiders | Devin White | LB | LSU
Some might bristle at the thought of an inside linebacker this early, but White is absolutely a top-five prospect in this class, and the Raiders have three first-round picks to play with. He’s exactly the kind of player who can transform the identity of an entire defense, and that’s what Oakland needs.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Ed Oliver | DL | Houston
There are bigger needs elsewhere, but the potential departure of Gerald McCoy could make this a bigger one. Oliver is one of the most talented, versatile prospects in this draft, and would be a welcome addition to a needy defense.
6. New York Giants | Dwayne Haskins | QB | Ohio State
In a real scenario, it’s highly unlikely the Giants will be able to stay at this pick and still land Haskins, who is widely regarded as the top passer in this class. If they do, it would be the perfect match of need and value for a team that needs a successor for Eli Manning.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars | Kyler Murray | QB | Oklahoma
The Blake Bortles experiment has failed (sorry, Jason), and it’s time for the Jags to swing away once more on a franchise quarterback. Murray is the biggest wild-card in this entire draft, but much like fellow Sooner/Heisman winner Baker Mayfield, he could break the mold of a top-10 QB.
8. Detroit Lions | Clelin Ferrell | EDGE | Clemson
Even if Ziggy Ansah were to return, the Lions still need a young pass rusher who can help him in the short-term while developing into his eventual replacement. Ferrell is one of the most complete prospects at any position in this year’s draft, and would be a solid value here.
9. Buffalo Bills | Jonah Williams | OT | Alabama
They have their franchise quarterback in Josh Allen, but the Bills need to improve his supporting cast in just about every way. That starts up front, by adding one of the most polished and experienced tackles in the country, who has been battle-tested by some of the best competition in college football.
10. Denver Broncos | Drew Lock | QB | Missouri
Case Keenum was only supposed to be a short-term solution, but even that isn’t working out so far. John Elway needs a high-upside passer with a big arm, and Lock is the man for the job. He proved with a solid Senior Bowl week that he could be worthy of top-10 consideration.

11. Cincinnati Bengals | Cody Ford | OT | Oklahoma
If the Bengals are going to keep rolling with Andy Dalton, he’s gonna need all the help he can get. There are weapons at the skill positions, but the protection needs improvement, and that’s where adding a polished, athletic blocker like Ford would be a huge boost.
12. Green Bay Packers | Jachai Polite | EDGE | Florida
Clay Matthews’ production is going down while his age is going up, and that’s not likely to go back in the other direction. The Packers have a pair of first-round picks to address their biggest needs, and this one should be spent on an explosive sack-master like Polite, who loves separating quarterback from the ball.
13. Miami Dolphins | Christian Wilkins | DL | Clemson
Free-agent departures and draft busts have left this unit in shambles, but this draft is the perfect time to reload. Wilkins was arguably the most impressive athlete in all of college football throughout his career, and that’s saying something for a 300-pounder.
14. Atlanta Falcons | Rashan Gary | DL | Michigan
There’s some solid young talent along this defensive front, but the Falcons could still use a difference-maker to anchor the interior and improve the rotation. Injuries and misuse held back this elite recruit in college, but Gary should be a much better pro.
15. Washington Redskins | Greedy Williams | CB | LSU
Trading away Kendall Fuller left a huge void in this secondary, but this scenario would present a perfect opportunity to remedy that. Williams still need some polish, but he has the size, length and athleticism to develop into an elite cover man at the next level.
16. Carolina Panthers | Montez Sweat | EDGE | Mississippi State
Julius Peppers is a rare breed, but in the twilight of his career, it’s time for him to train up the next stud pass rusher in Carolina. Sweat has a massive frame and a well-rounded skill set of his own, and would benefit greatly from learning behind Peppers for a year or two.
17. Cleveland Browns | D.K. Metcalf | WR | Ole Miss
There are bigger needs on both sides of the ball, but the Browns shouldn’t pass on the chance to give Baker Mayfield the best pass-catching weapon in this class. Recently cleared for football activities following neck surgery, Metcalf checks every box for a true No. 1 target.
18. Minnesota Vikings | Dalton Risner | OT | Kansas State
This team has some dangerous offensive weapons and a capable quarterback, but the protection has to improve across the board. Risner’s experience and polish should make him an instant-impact player at the next level, and his versatility would make him an upgrade at multiple spots.
19. Tennessee Titans | Jeffery Simmons | DL | Mississippi State
Jurrell Casey is still one of the better interior defenders in the league, but he’s not getting any younger. This year’s draft is loaded at the position, which should give the Titans fantastic value, like they get in this scenario. In any other class, Simmons could easily be a top-10 pick.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers | Byron Murphy | CB | Washington
Joe Haden has been a solid veteran presence, but there’s simply not another impact player on this roster at corner. This ends up being a fantastic scenario for the Steelers, who get an absolute steal in Murphy, one of this year’s most polished and instinctive cover men.

21. Seattle Seahawks | Deionte Thompson | S | Alabama
The reign of the “Legion of Boom” has ended, but that doesn’t mean the Seahawks can’t reload and try to build the next version. That starts with finding a rangy, athletic and physical playmaker at safety to replace Earl Thomas, and Thompson has all the traits to make it happen.
22. Baltimore Ravens | N’Keal Harry | WR | Arizona State
The Lamar Jackson era has officially begun in Baltimore, and the Ravens need to build a better supporting cast around their new franchise quarterback. First on the list? Finding him a true No. 1 receiver, with the big frame and complete skill set Harry brings to the table.
23. Houston Texans | Jawaan Taylor | OT | Florida
The Texans have one of the league’s best young quarterbacks, and a dangerous group of pass-catchers, but their offensive line is ruining it. If they want to protect Deshaun Watson and get the most out of their weapons, an athletic, physical blocker like Taylor would be a huge addition.
24. Oakland Raiders (from CHI) | Brian Burns | EDGE | Florida State
After getting a stud linebacker earlier in the round, it’s time for the Raiders to address the departure of Khalil Mack with one of the picks they traded him for. Burns is still filling out his frame, but his athleticism and explosiveness could make him a dangerous pass rusher.
25. Philadelphia Eagles | Deandre Baker | CB | Georgia
Philly’s lack of depth at corner was painfully evident as injuries stacked up down the stretch last season, and this offseason gives them a chance to address it. Baker is a tough, instinctive player with a nose for the ball who could become an instant starter.
26. Indianapolis Colts | Jerry Tillery | DL | Notre Dame
General manager Chris Ballard is building one of the best young teams in the league, but there are still a few glaring holes to fill. One of them is along the interior of the defensive line, where the Colts could use a versatile, disruptive force like Tillery, who can line up in multiple spots.
27. Oakland Raiders (from DAL) | Josh Jacobs | RB | Alabama
When you have three first-round picks, you can afford a little luxury. While he wasn’t a household name at the start of the season, Jacobs has used his limited action at Alabama to show flashes of brilliance that could make him this year’s Alvin Kamara.
28. Los Angeles Chargers | Greg Little | OT | Ole Miss
Philip Rivers isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon, so the Bolts need to keep giving him everything he needs to play at his best. That starts with getting him a franchise left tackle who can protect him, and Little has all the tools to be an immediate upgrade.
29. Kansas City Chiefs | Trayvon Mullen | CB | Clemson
The Chiefs’ defense is the biggest reason they didn’t reach the Super Bowl, and this offseason will be about reloading the roster on that side of the ball. Mullen, the defensive MVP of this year’s national title game, has the size and length Kansas City loves at corner.
30. Green Bay Packers (from NO | Noah Fant | TE | Iowa
After addressing their biggest need on defense earlier in the round, the Packers can’t spend this one without getting Aaron Rodgers some help. Jimmy Graham isn’t getting any younger, and Fant has the size and athleticism to be a similar weapon at all levels of the field.
31. New England Patriots | Zach Allen | DL | Boston College
The Pats need help at every level of their defense, so this pick is about maximizing value. That comes in the form of Allen, a versatile defender who can line up on the edge or kick inside, camping out in opposing backfields and getting after the passer.
32. Los Angeles Rams | Nasir Adderley | S | Delaware
If Lamarcus Joyner heads elsewhere in free agency, the Rams will need a playmaker to replace him at safety. One of this year’s most intriguing prospects, Adderley has experience at both corner and safety, and has all the physical tools to quickly develop into a dynamic presence at either spot.
