2019 NFL mock draft: Falcons pick Alabama RB prospect in round four

Now that Tevin Coleman has reunited with Kyle Shanahan on the 49ers, the Falcons might look to add another running back to the mix in this year’s NFL draft. Atlanta has found some gems at the position in the past, including last year’s fourth rounder, Ito Smith. This year, the Falcons might find another solid running back prospect in the fourth round in Alabama’s Damien Harris. In a new mock by Luke Easterling at Draft Wire, Harris goes to Atlanta with the No. 117 overall pick.

Harris (5-foot-11, 215 pounds) posted 20 touchdowns and 1,876 rushing yards over his last two seasons at Alabama. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry total in his college career.

Let’s watch Harris work on film.

Harris vs. Auburn

Harris vs. Ole Miss

Harris vs. Georgia

We like Harris’ game, but how the Falcons attack the position depends a lot on how they view Kenjon Barner, who just signed a one-year deal. If Barner is only going to be a return specialist, then adding a guy like Harris on Day 3 makes a lot of sense.

If they see Barner as a No. 3 back behind Smith and Devonta Freeman, then they could wait until after the draft and pick up a free agent they like.
