Another year and another former Baltimore Ravens player is heading into Canton. The 2019 NFL Hall of Fame class is full of amazing people who helped define the modern era of football. But for Ravens fans, you’re likely watching to see safety Ed Reed strut his stuff up on stage.
Reed was a truly revolutionary safety at a time when the league was just transitioning into their current pass-happy iteration. Through his speed, agility, football IQ and instincts, Reed was feared for what he could do and closely watched by opponents for where he’d be at any given time.
Reed joins the 2019 NFL Hall of Fame class thanks to several records and more than a decade of spectacular play.
Reed holds the record for most interception return yards (1,507) as well as the top-two longest interception returns in NFL history (107 and 106 yards). He was a nine-time Pro Bowler and received five first-team All-Pro nods during his 12-year career. Though Reed didn’t finish his career with Baltimore and no person goes in under a team, everyone knows what colors Reed will be rocking in Canton.
