2019 NFL Free Agency: What will QB Nick Foles’ departure from Philadelphia mean for the Titans?

After the incompetence backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert displayed in the final week of the 2018 season, it’s apparent the Tennessee Titans have a need to fill at the quarterback position.

With starting signal-caller Marcus Mariota missing substantial action due to frequent injuries, the Titans need an established passer behind him to get the job done.

While he won’t come cheap, the addition of Foles may ultimately be the smartest acquisition the Titans make in the 2019 NFL offseason.

Not only did Foles secure a Super Bowl win for the Eagles the season before last, but he also put Philadelphia in a position to make another run for the title in 2018 after a Week 14 overtime loss to Dallas gave them just an 11 percent chance of making it into the postseason.

Foles completed 141-of-195 passes for 1,413 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions as a steady option for Philadelphia behind Carson Wentz.

With a reputation like this one, the Titans should definitely be interested in getting into the mix.

It doesn’t just come down to what Nick Foles could do for the Titans. The team must also consider what he can do if he chooses to go with an AFC South opponent like the Jaguars.

The Jags may be shaky on offense for now, but through the depth they could add through the draft and with a veteran like Foles, that could all change very quickly.

And it won’t bode well for the Titans.
