2019 NFL free agency: Vikings reportedly interested in signing former Titans OL Josh Kline

After being released by the Tennessee Titans on Friday, offensive lineman Josh Kline is in the market for a new landing spot.

According to report on Sunday by KSTP’s Darren Wolfson, the Minnesota Vikings have shown interest in signing Kline, and had an “external chat” regarding him after his release.

The team is also expected to visit with Kline in the near future.

The move makes sense for the Vikings, now that the first splash of NFL free agency has essentially ended, with the team staying mostly inactive throughout the period.

Addressing the offensive line is on Minnesota’s to-do list, but aside from re-signing Anthony Barr and bringing back Shamar Stephen, they’ve hardly accomplished the task.

If the Vikings do bring Kline aboard, he can expect to be paid modestly, as the team only has roughly $2 million remaining in cap space.

Kline is expected to go for cheap regardless, after a dismal 2018 performance on which he gave up 38 quarterback pressures – including four sacks – helped the Titans decide against keeping him around for the final year of his contract.

It will be interesting to see if the team is willing to make a move for the ex-Titan as they search for ways to bolster the offensive line in 2019.
