With the first big splash of the free agency period having come and gone, the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft presents the next major opportunity for teams to bolster their rosters.
Holding the No. 19 overall pick, the Tennessee Titans have plenty of talented options available to choose from on the board.
With general manager Jon Robinson utilizing free agency to address nearly all of the team’s most pressing needs, the team also has more freedom in regards to the position of the player they choose as well.
One player the Titans could consider in the first round is Iowa State wide receiver Hakeem Butler.
The Titans do have a a potentially solid receiving corps in works with an up-and-coming talent in Corey Davis, in addition to the recent signing of slot receiver Adam Humphries.
Couple Humphries with Taywan Taylor, and the Titans have some serious strength at the position on the inside. Tennessee is still missing a man that can play opposite of Davis and be a force on the outside, though.
That’s where someone like Butler could factor in.
The former Cardinal has proven a versatile and dominant athlete on his college career, cementing himself as one of the most commanding players on the offense.
In 2018, Butler reeled in 60 receptions for 1,318 yards and nine touchdowns. Over three career seasons with Iowa State, he reeled in 110 receptions for 2,149 yards and 18 touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see if Robinson and the Titans choose to continue adding depth at receiver or choose to tackle another position group as they make their first selection on April 25.
