When the Tennessee Titans make their fifth-round selection in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft, TSU’s Christion Abercrombie will be the one reading it.
It’ll be a special moment for the middle linebacker, who has made a miraculous recovery after suffering a life-threatening injury against Vanderbilt during the 2018 season.
Abercrombie has had two brain surgeries and has spent much of his time in recent months in rehabilitation therapy.
With this, Abercrombie joins the ranks of defensive lineman Jurrell Casey, who will announce the third-round pick, and former Titans running back Eddie George, who will read the second-round pick.
On Thursday, it was also announced that the Grammy-award winning band Cage The Elephant will announce the Titans’ fourth-round selection.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will announce all first-round picks at the event, including Tennessee’s.
The NFL Draft will run from April 25-27 in Nashville, Tennessee.
