2019 NFL Draft: Tracking Saints visits with prospects

The New Orleans Saints will be active in scheduling private visits and workouts with prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft, helping them fill in the blanks on scouting reports and shape their draft strategy. NFL teams are allowed to fly in just 30 prospects for private visits at their facilities, but many more meetings will happen at college campuses surrounding individual pro days. We’ll track these visits and workouts as they are reported.

  1. 3/12. LB Blake Cashman, Minnesota Golden Gophers. Cashman has risen quickly through the predraft process, thanks to a great combine performance that sent evaluators doubling back to watch his game tape. Cashman is a short-armed linebacker but moves so smoothly and efficiently that he’s rarely out of position to make a tackle. Reported by Thor Nystrom of NBC Rotoworld.
  2. 3/16. RB Devine Ozigbo, Nebraska Huskers. Ozigbo was a late bloomer at Nebraska, not hitting his stride until his senior year (which coincided with the hiring of new head coach Scott Frost). Ozigbo averaged 7 yards per carry and exceeded expectations at his pro day, running the 40-yard dash in about 4.5 seconds at 233-pounds. Reported by Justin Melo of Draft Wire.
  3. 3/20. TE Dawson Knox, Ole Miss Rebels. Knox was horribly underutilized in college, so badly that he never scored a touchdown. Knox performed well in combine testing but skipped the 40-yard dash; he reportedly timed a 4.59 in the summer of 2018. Reported by Justin Melo of Draft Wire.
  4. 3/20. CB Derrick Baity, Kentucky Wildcats. Saints representatives (either scouts or coaches) met with Baity over dinner before his pro day, where he’ll hope to improve his numbers in the agility drills and run the 40-yard dash after abstaining at the combine. Reported by Justin Melo of Draft Wire.
  5. 3/20. RB Mike Weber, Ohio State Buckeyes. Weber is a solid athlete with decent college production, with similarities in play style to Mark Ingram. The Saints are set with Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray but could use a third wheel. He could be in play on the third day of the draft. Reported by Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors.
  6. 3/20. WR Parris Campbell, Ohio State Buckeyes. Campbell is an elite athlete with just one impressive statistical season behind him. He’s comfortably within the tier of wide receivers who could be picked at the end of the first round or somewhere in the second round. Reported by Garrett Stepien of Buckeye Sports Bulletin.
