2019 NFL Draft: Titans select Georgia OLB D’Andre Walker

The Tennessee Titans have officially made their fifth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

With the No. 168 overall pick, the Titans selected Georgia outside linebacker D’Andre Walker in an effort to increase the pass rush in the upcoming season.

Walker was a key piece of the Bulldogs’ defense in 2018, his first season that coaches placed him in the starting lineup.

The 6-foot-2, 251-pounder led the with 45 tackles, 11 for loss and 7.5 sacks over 13 starts.

He did not start a contest in his first three seasons with the Bulldogs, but was still a player of note. As a true freshman, he made nine tackles on 13 appearances. In 2016, he made 19 stops, 2.5 for loss in 13 games.

Walker looked to be on the verge of a breakout in 2017, finishing second on the ream with 13.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks on 15 appearances.

It will be interesting to see just how well a developmental prospect like Walker fits into Dean Pees’ defense in Tennessee moving forward.
