2019 NFL Draft: Titans host several prospects at Pro Day

The Tennessee Titans hosted roughly 40 prospects at St. Thomas Sports Park in anticipation on the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday.

Among those to attend the local Pro Day were former Vanderbilt cornerback Joejuan Williams, quarterback Kyle Shurmur and TSU wide receiver DeVon Johnson.

Williams, a Nashville native, is just one of many taking full advantage of the opportunity as the draft stands less than two weeks away.

“The whole Titans staff, it is high energy,” he said in a report by the team’s Jim Wyatt. “I came in here to get some work, and it’s another chance for me to prove myself.

Williams is confident in his ability to prove he’s of the top talent at his position.

“I am not afraid of competition and I am not sitting out because it is just a regular local day. I am here to get some work. What do I want to show? I want to show I am the best DB in this draft.”

There were several other former Commodores in the bunch, along with  MTSU, TSU, Western Kentucky and Austin Peay alums.

While most prospects attended an in-state college, others were from out-of-state with ties to the area.

These names included Oregon defensive back Ugo Amadi, Ole Miss tight end Dawson Knox, Texas A&M inside linebacker Tyrel Dodson and Notre Dame offensive lineman Alex Bars.

The draft is scheduled to run from April 25-27, with the Titans making their first selection at No. 19 overall.
