2019 NFL draft: Texans select OT Tytus Howard from Alabama State

The Houston Texans indeed addressed the offensive line with their 23rd overall pick in Round 1 of the 2019 NFL draft.

The AFC South champions from a season ago selected Alabama State offensive tackle Tytus Howard, who was the fifth offensive lineman taken in the draft.

Philadelphia moved up with Baltimore to take Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard at 22 overall.

Howard was considered the sixth-best offensive tackle in the draft, according to Walter Football. The 6-5, 322-pound tackle had a strong showing at the Senior Bowl.

Florida Gators tackle Jawaan Taylor, Okalahoma Sooners tackle Cody Ford, and Kansas State tackle Dalton Risner were still on the board.
