The Raiders selected Alabama running back Josh Jacobs with the No. 24 overall selection of the 2019 NFL draft.
Marshawn Lynch ended his phenomenal football career after announcing his retirement, so the need for a long-term running back was at the top of Oakland’s to-do list.
Even though he wasn’t the main back for the Crimson Tide, Jacobs shined in his limited opportunity. Jacobs is a strong, physical runner, who’s very good between the tackles. He is quick to the hole and shows outstanding vision and instincts. He will be a reliable pass-catcher for the Raiders, as well.
Jacobs should see a large load of carries early on in his professional career.
