2019 NFL Draft: Patriots pick Ole Miss CB Ken Webster in 7th round

The New England Patriots selected Ole Miss cornerback Ken Webster with the 252nd overall in the seventh round during the 2019 NFL Draft.

Webster finished his final college season with two interceptions and 30 tackles. He missed all of 2016 with a knee injury, and was suspended for one game in 2017 for shoplifting.

Webster was the second cornerback that the Patriots drafted in 2019 to go with Vanderbilt cornerback Joejuan Williams. They joined a draft class which included Arizona State receiver N’Keal Harry, Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich, Alabama running back Damien Harris, West Virginia tackle Yodny Cajuste, Arkansas guard Hjalte Froholdt, quarterback Jarrett Stidham, Maryland defensive tackle Byron Cowart and Stanford punter Jake Bailey.

Webster will join a cornerback group which includes Stephon Gilmore, J.C. Jackson, Jason McCourty, Jon Jones, Duke Dawson and Keion Crossen. It’s arguably one of the most stacked groups in the league and is one of the deepest positions on the team.
