2019 NFL draft: Panthers trade up to No. 37, pick Ole Miss OT Greg Little

The Carolina Panthers have made a trade up in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. Carolina has moved up 10 spots from No. 47 overall to No. 37 overall, swapping picks with the Seahawks.

The Panthers used Seattle’s pick on Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little. He started 29 games at left tackle out of 36 in college.

Little projects as Carolina’s new starting left tackle, allowing former second-round pick Taylor Moton to stay at right tackle, where he thrived in 2018.

At the combine, Little’s measurements were as follows: 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, 35.25-inch arms and 10.25-inch hands. He posted a 5.33 second 40-yard dash time and a 113-inch broad jump.

Like Brian Burns in the first round, this was another good pick for the Panthers at a major position of need.

The Panthers gave up the No. 47 and No. 77 picks to Seattle in the trade. That’s certainly a lot of value to give up, but the selection itself is a strong one worth celebrating. Barring another trade, the next time they will be on the clock is at the No. 100 pick.
