2019 NFL draft: Jets swap 4th round picks, add 5th round selection in trade with Saints

With only two picks entering Day 3 of the 2019 NFL draft, Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan is making an effort to stockpile additional draft capital late in the draft.

Originally slated to pick third in the fourth round (No. 105 overall), New York exchanged fourth-round selections with the New Orleans Saints and also added a fifth-round pick (No. 168 overall). The Jets will now pick at No. 116.

This is the second time the Jets have partnered with the Saints for a trade involving 2019 draft picks. In September, New York sent quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to the Saints in exchange for a third-round selection. With that pick, the Jets selected USC offensive tackle Chuma Edoga.
