2019 NFL Draft: Colorado’s Evan Worthington presents late-round option at safety for Titans

Safety isn’t the most pressing need for the Tennessee Titans, but they could still use a late-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to add another developmental prospect.

If the team does choose to go this route, Colorado’s Evan Worthington could present an option in the sixth round.

Fansided’s Cody Williams also sees Worthington as an intriguing player for the Titans to take a chance on.

“Worthington isn’t ready to play Day 1, but that works out fine for Tennessee,” he wrote.

His physical profile gives him the ability to play at either safety spot and succeed. All he needs is time to hone his craft and develop a better football IQ, which would see him become a tremendous value with this draft position.”

If selected, Worthington would join the ranks of a strong group at the position in Tennessee that includes Kevin Byard, Kenny Vaccaro and 2018 fifth-round pick, Dane Cruikshank.

On his college career, the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder totals 127 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions and 10 passes defensed for the Buffaloes.

It will be interesting to see if Worthington is a part of the Titans’ plans after the draft kicks off an April 25.
