2019 NFL draft: College highlights for Panthers first-round pick Brian Burns

The Carolina Panthers got themselves a special pass rusher with their first-round pick, selecting Florida State EDGE Brian Burns at No. 16 overall.

Last season, he totaled 10 sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss. We can tell you all about how effective Burns is getting to the quarterback all night. Seeing is believing, though. Let’s take a look at some tape from Burns’ outstanding college career.

Burns vs. Notre Dame

Burns vs. Boston College

Burns vs. NC State

Burns vs. Virginia Tech

Burns vs. Miami

Burns vs. Alabama

Burns vs. Clemson

Burns vs. Wake Forest

Burns projects as a starter right away, replacing Julius Peppers as the book-end on the opposite end of the defensive line as Mario Addison, who led the team in sacks last year.

Addison posted nine sacks, but nobody else on the team had more than five. If nothing else, Burns should help turn that top-heavy dynamic around.
