2019 NFL Draft: Clemson’s Christian Wilkins presents option at DT

The Tennessee Titans enter the 2019 NFL Draft with some voids to fill on both sides of the ball.

One area that needs addressing is at defensive tackle. NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks thinks the Titans could take care of it by picking up Clemson’s Christian Wilkins with the 19th overall pick.

“Mike Vrabel needs another playmaker up front to help the Titans generate more sacks and pressures,” Brooks wrote.

Wilkins is impressive against the run with some pass rushing ability as well, with a high that can be credited to his versatility and skill set.

For his size, Wilkins possesses a great amount of athleticism. He’s been primarily used by Clemson at the 5-technique, but may find himself more utilized at the 3-technique in the NFL to wreak havoc in the backfield.

On his senior season at Clemson, the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder totaled 51 tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble and two passes defensed.

In his four-year career, Wilkins racked up 192 tackles, 16 sacks, two forced fumbles and 12 passes defense.

We’ll see if Wilkins is in the Titans’ plans when team decides to do with their first pick of the Draft. The clock officially starts ticking on April 25 at 8:00 p.m. CT in Nashville.
