2019 NFL draft: Christian McCaffrey, Charles Johnson to announce Panthers picks

The Carolina Panthers will have a couple of familiar faces announcing three of their draft picks this year. As is custom, the first-round pick will be announced by commissioner Roger Goodell on the first night of the draft. After that, the stage will turn over to a couple of Carolina favorites.

According to the team website, third-year running back and former first-round pick Christian McCaffrey will announce the team’s second-round selection, the No. 47 overall pick.

Former defensive end Charles Johnson will then read the name of Carolina’s two third-round choices: they pick at No. 77 overall and again at No. 100 thanks to a compensatory pick for losing star left guard Andrew Norwell in free agency last year. Johnson played for the Panthers from 2007-2017, totaling 67.5 sacks and 75 tackles for a loss.

This year’s draft will be held in Nashville, hosted by the Titans.

The Panthers have a total of seven picks, beginning at No. 16 overall.
