2019 NFL draft: Chargers met with pair of Villanova offensive tackles

The Chargers are certainly bound to take an aggressive approach to ensure that they are able to load up on talent and depth along the offensive line. As the 2019 NFL draft inches closer, the team is doing the homework to get familiar with everyone.

Los Angeles traveled to Pennsylvania to attend Villanova’s Pro Day. But prior to the event on Monday, they met with two of their former offensive tackles in Ethan Greenidge and Brandon Hitner this past weekend, according to N.J.’s Mike Kaye.

L.A. seemed to garner more attention towards Greenidge as the representatives there took him out to dinner, as well.

Greenidge was a first-team All-CAA performer for the Cats this past season, starting seven games at left tackle and three at right tackle. Greenidge participated in the East-West Shrine game in January.

The 6-foot-4 and 327 pound offensive tackle has some of the longest arms in the class, nearing 35 inches. Greenidge has areas of development, but his size and length could put him in consideration for a late round selection or priority pickup as an undrafted free agent.

Hitner, the 6-foot-6 and 300 pounder, appeared in 28 games over four seasons for the Wildcats. In 2017, he started all 11 games and won the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award. He was limited to 7 games in 2018, due to a knee injury.
