2019 NFL Draft: Arizona State DL Renell Wren presents third-round option for the Titans

With the 2019 NFL Draft now just a day away, Tennessee Titans fans are eager to see where the team will go with its first-round pick.

But there’s more important selections to make outside of pick No. 19, and one player that presents an option particularly in the third round is Arizona State defensive lineman Renell Wren.

The 6-foot-5, 318-pounder is undoubtedly a raw and developmental prospect, but he’s perfect for a team looking to use him for the purpose of adding depth.

One key trait Wren possesses is that of versatility, as he can fit easily into a one or two-gap scheme. Described by many analysts as a “freak athlete,” Wren is exceptionally quick off the snap, is a solid pocket pusher and has the ideal size and level of strength to perform at the position.

Wren earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors in 2018, which was easily his best season, starting 13 games and recording 43 tackles, 4.5 for loss, one sack, and two pass breakups.

On his college career with the Sun Devils, Wren accumulated 81 tackles, three sacks, one interception and a pair of pass breakups.

Only time will tell if Wren ultimately joins the Titans in Nashville as the draft kicks off on Thursday evening.
