2019 NFL draft: Alabama EDGE prospect to visit Panthers next week

Nick Saban’s Alabama program sets the standard in college football and regularly produces players that go on to be stars in the NFL. The Panthers could use some fresh star-power, especially along their defensive line now that the legendary Julius Peppers has retired.

Carolina will get an up-close look at one of Alabama’s promising outside linebacker prospects soon. According to Justin Melo at Draft Wire, Christian Miller will be visiting with the team next week. After only playing 14 games in his first three years, Miller had a breakout senior season, posting career highs with eight sacks and 11 tackles for a loss.

One big selling point for Miller (6-foot-3, 247 pounds) is arm length. At the combine, they were measured at 35.125 inches. He also showed off some athleticism, posting a 38.5-inch vertical leap and a 118-inch broad jump.

Here’s a look at Miller’s tape from Alabama.

While his history of injuries is definitely a yellow flag, Miller’s potential should make him worth a third or fourth-round pick.
