The Jacksonville Jaguars enter this offseason in a pretty rough spot. They have a gaping hole at their QB position along with a ton of other needs across their roster.
Who could they add through the draft to really turn around the outlook of their franchise?
Dwayne Haskins | QB | Ohio State

What better way to turn around a franchise than to select a franchise caliber quarterback? Haskins may have a few flaws in his game but at his face value, he is a talented young signal caller who put together an excellent season for Ohio State. He an accurate distributor of the ball who throws with anticipation and touch to all levels of the field.
If the Jaguars really want to upgrade their quarterback position and not waste another year of their top ten defense, they should select Dwayne Haskins if he is there with their first pick. I’m sure their speedy receivers would also appreciate the uprade from the Kessler/Bortles duo.
Jawaan Taylor | OT | Florida

If they can’t add their future signal caller in the first round of this draft, the Jaquars would be wise to sure up the protection in front of whoever is quarterback in 2019. Jeremy Parnell was not great at right tackle last year and he’s heading into the final year of his deal at 32 years old. Adding the behemoth of a tackle in Taylor would be an excellent draft pick.
Standing at 6’5″ 334 pounds, Taylor is a mauler in the run game with his size and athleticism. In the pass game, he is strong as an ox as he locks down edge rushers with nimble feet and great hand placement. He could immediately slide into the starting right tackle spot and lock down that side of the line for a decade.
T.J Hockenson | TE | Iowa

If the best tackle and best quarterback in the class are off the board, the Jaguars have a chance to dip into this historic tight end class in the first round. Starting tight end James O’Shaughnessy is a decent player but he is likely best served in more of a number two role. They need a player who can open up run lanes on the ground and make plays in the passing game. T.J Hockenson is that number one guy.
After testing phenomenally at the combine– he posted elite scores in the vertical and broad jumps as well as elite scores in the short shuttle and 3-cone– Hockenson’s stock is on the rise. He is a do it all type player who is dominant in the run game while also boasting the athletic ability and playmaking mentality to be a threat in the passing game. By adding him, the Jaguars would be potentially adding a top 10 tight end in football to their roster in year one.
DK Metcalf | WR | Ole Miss

Speaking of combine standouts, DK Metcalf shocked the world with his 4.33 40 yard dash at the combine last week. The Jaguars may not necessarily need a receiver this early in the draft but adding a player with Metcalf’s skillset is hard to pass up. The young receivers the Jaguars already have– Keelan Cole, DJ Chark, Dede Westbrook– would benefit greatly from Metcalf’s presence on the field.
He is a true burner on the field with excellent size and physicality. Standing at 6’3″ 228 pounds, he posted some of the best numbers for the vertical, 40 yard dash, and broad jump in combine history. With his freaky athleticism, he is also excellent on the field as corners struggle to run with him and match his physicality. By adding Metcalf, the Jaguars would have a true number one receiver on their roster.
