Beginning on Tuesday, February 26, the 2019 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana will officially get underway and all eyes from within the football world will be on hand.
The New York Giants will, of course, be well-represented in Indiana, as scouts, front office members, head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Dave Gettleman will all be on hand.
And for Giants fans looking for a little added insight headed into the 2019 NFL Draft, they will be in luck. Both Gettleman and Shurmur are slated to meet with the media.
Currently, Shurmur is scheduled to speak at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, almost immediately followed up by Gettleman, who will be on the clock beginning at 11:45.
The primary focus of each press conference will undoubtedly center on quarterback Eli Manning, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and the trade rumors, the draft-eligible quarterbacks and, probably to a lesser degree, other areas of need for the team.
The good news is that Gettleman, unlike Jerry Reese before him, is much more blunt and informative with the media. And while he’s not going to give away any internal secrets, he has a reputation for being a straight shooter, so fans can likely take him at his word — whatever word that may ultimately be.
