Concept cars from Kia and Hyundai’s upmarket nameplate are showing the way for electric mobility.

Kia Habaniro
Kia, sister-brand of Hyundai, has shown its vision of an all-electric compact SUV. In the typical style of experimental show cars, the Habaniro has an outlandish design inside and out. The twin-motor all-wheel drive crossover can cover nearly 500km on one charge and sports Level 5 driving autonomy (eyes away from the road). Although today’s Niro EV has only gone on sale globally for a year, the Habaniro provides some pointers of the next-gen model.

Genesis Mint Concept
Genesis, the newly established premium badge from Hyundai, has turned its attention on the lower end of the luxury car market with a compact electric vehicle. Penned with inputs from design houses in Asia, Europe and US, the Mint Concept is a chunky-looking and sporty city car that has a range of around 350km. Upscale brands from both Japan and Europe have yet to tap in this particular segment.
