2019 NBA Draft: Lakers luck into fourth overall pick

The lottery balls have spoken and the Los Angeles Lakers will have the fourth selection in the 2019 NBA Draft. Going into the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday, they were slotted for the 11th overall pick.

Unfortunately, that likely means Zion Williamson won’t be suiting up in the purple and gold next season, unless three other teams pass on him. That’s highly unlikely, to say the least.

Still, there are expected to be a handful talented players on the board when the Lakers are on the clock on June 20, like Texas Tech’s Jarrett Culver and Virginia’s DeAndre Hunger. However, they could also trade the pick for an All-Star to pair with LeBron James this summer like Anthony Davis, who the team has been linked to all season.

Whatever the case may be, the Lakers have an asset they can use to add much-needed talent to their roster in the offseason. Only time will tell exactly what they plan to do with it.
