Nevada wide receiver Kaleb Fossum is next on our list of Mountain West football’s 52 best players, coming in at #46 after a year in which he emerged as one of the conference’s most efficient pass-catchers.
His 2017 season was shortened by injury, but Fossum led Nevada with 97 targets, 70 catches, and a 72% catch rate last fall. Though he only scored once last fall, Fossum did more than enough to keep the Wolf Pack in positions to succeed, finishing the year with a 58.8% Success Rate that was among the best such figures in the country.
With McLane Mannix gone to Texas Tech, Fossum may just be the go-to option for which quarterback ends up replacing Ty Gangi this fall. Good thing, too; his hands and elusiveness are hard to find.
