Wyoming quarterback Sean Chambers is next on our countdown of Mountain West football’s 52 best players this season, coming in at #45 despite playing in just four games because, well, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better such stretch anywhere in the conference last fall.
The 6-foot-3, 218-pound Chambers electrified the Pokes faithful after assuming the starting role in mind-October, topping 100 yards rushing in each of the three full games that he played while completing 15-of-25 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. The rough-and-tumble playing style suited Craig Bohl’s offense just fine and though he suffered an injury late in the 2018 campaign, he recovered well enough to be named the Cowboys’ starting quarterback earlier this spring.
In a Mountain division that looks as stacked as any in recent memory, how Chambers builds on his brief breakout could make Wyoming a team no one wants to face.
