Wyoming running back Xazavian Valladay is next on our list of Mountain West football’s 52 best players, checking in at #38 while shining in part-time duty last fall.
Nico Evans got much of the workload in the Cowboys running game in 2018, but Valladay more than held his own when his number was called upon. He had 71 carries for 396 yards and three touchdowns, including a 192-yard performance in the season finale against New Mexico, and his average of 6.71 Highlight Yards Per Opportunity was right in line with Evans’s.
Now that Evans is gone, Valladay will be counted upon to do more but, if recent history is any indication, he and his top-52 quarterback could make for an unforgiving duo.
