Boise State free safety DeAndre Pierce is next on our list of Mountain West football’s 52 best players, finding his way into its ranks for the second straight year, at #37, despite missing most of 2018 with injury.
Pierce only played in four games for the Broncos last season but began 2018 on a tear, collecting 23 tackles (which led the team at the time) and a sack. Two seasons ago, he finished with 83 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception, allowing just 6.6 yards play, so the ceiling remains high if he’s healthy.
He might be a little overlooked on a loaded Boise State defense, but don’t be shocked if Pierce returns to all-conference form.
