2019 Lions cuts tracker: Follow release news as it happens

By Saturday at 4:00 pm EST, the Detroit Lions are required to have their roster reduced to 53-players and we at Lions Wire will be updating this page with every move.

So be sure to bookmark this page and check back for live updates as they happen.

Cutting the roster from 90 to 53-players is a difficult and unenviable task for general manager Bob Quinn, coach Matt Patricia and their staff. It’ll be even worse for the over 1,100 players who will be on the wrong end of a conversation with an NFL front office.

In past seasons, Quinn hasn’t wasted time — his or the players — making decisions, releasing several players on Friday, then rounding out his final decisions on Saturday. Last year he released 13 players a day early, then made the remaining 24 decisions ahead of the deadline.

Roster Total: 78

Last updated: Friday at 5:40 pm EST
