Jhonattan Vegas held a two-shot lead over Ernie Els, two-time major champion Zach Johnson, Canada’s Ben Silverman and Lucas Glover entering Friday play at the 2019 Honda Classic.
However, Vegas lost his hold on the lead following a double-bogey on the ninth hole. Sung-jae Im and Keith Mitchell moved into the top spot midway through the day at 6-under par and held the lead until they finished play.
Vegas shot a 4-under 66 Thursday morning wave and it held up all day Thursday.Vegas recorded another double-bogey on 13 when he fell into the fairway bunker on his first shot and struggled to sink his putt with his fourth and fifth swing. He finished the par-4 hole 2-over, giving him a 4-over score for the second round through 13 holes.
