All-new sedan comes with basically maintained prices thanks to tax-beating turbo engine and hybrid option.

Honda Automobiles Thailand has officially launched the all-new Accord after previewing it to the public late last year.
Priced from 1.5 million baht, the tenth-generation sedan now comes with turbo power to choose from, aside the hybrid variant.
The Accord Turbo features 190hp 1.5-litre petrol-turbo with E85 compatibility and 16.4kpl economy rating. Transmission is via CVT automatic.
It replaces the outgoing 174hp 2.4-litre naturally aspirated motor and comes in only one trim: EL costing 1.5 million baht, 135k cheaper than the 2.4.
Like before, the new Accord also features 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid with 215hp of combined power. It’s priced at 1.65 million baht and an extra 150k for the Tech version filled fully with driver-assist technologies.
As both engines attract lower excise tax than ever, these prices are basically the same as before but with better kit.
The Accord Hybrid’s sole competitor in Thailand is the Toyota Camry HV, which comes with 215hp 2.5-litre petrol-electric system priced from 1.639-1.799 million baht.
Together with the Camry, the Nissan Teana still use 2.0-litre non-turbo engine on the entry-level front with starting prices of 1.445 and 1.385 million baht accordingly.
Although the old Accord has a 2.0-litre option covering the 1.385-1.445 million baht price range, it isn’t being offered anymore in this new model.
