2019 Genesis Open Sunday Live Blog: J.B. Holmes defeats Justin Thomas by 1 shot

Justin Thomas held the lead for most of the final round at the 2019 Genesis Open on Sunday. But he faded on the back nine as J.B. Holmes took home a one-shot victory over Thomas for the PGA Tour victory.

“It was really tough on the back side,” Holmes said after finishing at 14-under par for his fifth win. The victory qualifies Holmes for a spot in the WGC-Mexico Championship this upcoming week.

Play resumed in the morning at 6:45 a.m. local time. Tiger Woods, who surged late Saturday finished his the tournament at 6-under, after moving to 10-under mid-way through the final round.
