Ranking all the 2019 recruiting classes for all 130 teams. How do they all look after the signings are in?
After the big late December early period, and with National Signing Day well in the rearview mirror, how do all of the recruiting classes stack up after the 2019 signing season?
While it’s all total speculation, the goal is to look at the classes as a whole. Who got the most prospects? The more recruits, the more chances for good players.
Who got the stars? Who got the bulk? Who got the most potential difference makers?
With all that in mind, and trying to get this all as close to the pin as possible, here are the 2019 Recruiting Class Rankings.
– 2018 Recruiting Class Rankings
– 2017 Recruiting Class Rankings
130. Charlotte 49ers
What You Need To Know: The coaching chance to Will Healy hurt with a small class of just 14 signees. There isn’t much for the offensive backfield, but the pass catchers are there. Next year, the lines need a whole lot of bodies.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: WR Noah Henderson
Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 107
129. Bowling Green Falcons
What You Need To Know: There aren’t enough prospects to get excited about. Only 17 players were signed, with new head coach Scot Loeffler getting what he could to help out the D. The secondary has the most potential from this group.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: DE Anthony Johnson
Strongest Position: Cornerback
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 89
128. San Jose State Spartans
What You Need To Know: It wasn’t quite the class Brent Brennan needed to turn things around. There were a few JUCO and grad transfers coming in, but there aren’t enough of them to make a huge immediate difference. A quarterback answer has to come – if possible – from prep signees Natano Woods and Alec Trujillo.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: CB BJ Johnson
Strongest Position: Cornerback
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 102
127. UMass Minutemen

Best Prospect Name You Should Know: WR Dariyan Wiley
Strongest Position: Quarterback
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 115
126. ULM Warhawks
What You Need To Know: There are live bodies, but there’s not a whole lot of talent. Head coach Matt Viator came up with plenty of options for the defensive line, and the bodies are there for the secondary, but the class is missing the high-end prospects.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: CB DeMarcus Jones
Strongest Position: Defensive Talent
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 121
125. Rice Owls
What You Need To Know: In his second year at the helm, head coach Mike Bloomgren didn’t have a whole lot of openings. It’s a really, really small class with almost nothing for the offensive backfield, but the offensive linemen and pass catchers are interesting.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: OG Izeya Floyd
Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 118
124. Kent State Golden Flashes
What You Need To Know: Sean Lewis needs the infrastructure to run his FlashFast offense – he got it with a whole lot of linemen. A few promising skill players are coming in, while the JUCO guys are there to give the D an instant boost.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: RB Joachim Bangda
Strongest Position: Offensive Linemen
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 94
123. New Mexico State Aggies
What You Need To Know: There isn’t any talent, but there’s a whole lot for the receiving corps with a slinger in Weston Eget to get everyone the ball. However, the bulk is on the offensive line and at linebacker.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: QB Weston Eget
Strongest Position: Linebacker
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 125
122. South Alabama Jaguars
What You Need To Know: And here come the JUCO transfers. QB Tylan Morton might make the biggest impact, but the defense is loaded with with a players expected to help the cause now, and Conner Estes is a ready-made starter at offensive tackle.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: QB Tylan Morton
Strongest Position: Quarterbacks
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 124
121. Ball State Cardinals
What You Need To Know: The passing game gets a whole lot of help with a few nice receivers to go along with two pure passing quarterbacks. There’s not enough for the defensive side, but the corners should be the stars with a little time.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: WR Jalen McGaughy
Strongest Position: Cornerback
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 120
120. Connecticut Huskies
What You Need To Know: It’s a really small class of just 16 prospects, and there isn’t a lot of high-end talent to make up for it. There are just enough decent players coming in to hope for an improvement on defense – ends Justin Moore and Dal’Mont Gourdine are the stars – but not enough to make a huge instant improvement.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: DE Justin Moore
Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 100
119. Fresno State Bulldogs
What You Need To Know: There aren’t a whole lot of big-time talents coming in, but Jeff Tedford has found a way to win with the guys he gets. The biggest problem is size – it’s a smallish class, without a whole lot of quality to make up for the lack of quantity.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: WR Jalen Cropper
Strongest Position: Linebacker
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 109
118. Texas State Bobcats

Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 105

Best Prospect Name You Should Know: DE Raquan Thompson
Strongest Position: Tight End
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 83
116. Navy Midshipmen
What You Need To Know: It’s stunningly weak on the running back side, but there are always parts to fit the system. There are plenty of quarterback options to find that one guy, and the ones who don’t make the cut will likely be slotbacks.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: DE Tuasili Fiatoa
Strongest Position: Defensive Backs
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 116
115. Old Dominion Monarchs
What You Need To Know: Bobby Wilder came up with a massive class, but there aren’t many star prospects to get excited about. However, Hayden Wolff should be the program’s main man at quarterback in the near future, and JUCO transfer Messiah deWeaver should be the star now. Best Prospect Name You Should Know: QB Messiah deWeaver
Strongest Position: Defensive End
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 111
114. WKU Hilltoppers
What You Need To Know: New head man Tyson Helton had no time to work, but he signed on a massive class with 24 prospects. The receives are the stars, but the defensive backs coming in are solid, too.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: WR Manuel Allen
Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 81
113. New Mexico Lobos

Best Prospect Name You Should Know: RB Chad Alexander
Strongest Position: Defensive Back
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 127
112. Libery Flames
What You Need To Know: Hugh Freeze cranked up the defensive front in his first class, getting the tackles on National Signing Day. The defensive backs aren’t bad, either, especially at corner. There isn’t enough for the offensive side, but the new era will start on the other side.

Strongest Position: Defensive Tackle
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 130
111. Army Black Knights

Strongest Position: Running Back
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 113

Best Prospect Name You Should Know: RB Deon Hankins
Strongest Position: Tight End
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 106
109. UNLV Rebels
What You Need To Know: Tony Sanchez didn’t do too much with a decent-sized class, but he signed a few interesting prospects. Strongest Position: Defensive End
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 99
108. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
What You Need To Know: Joe Moglia went with a decent class for the offensive line, but the biggest push was for the secondary. Getting Australian punter Kieran Colahan makes the biggest splash, but WR Deon Fountain should be the biggest offensive star.
Best Prospect Name You Should Know: P Kieran Colahan
Strongest Position: Defensive Backs
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 114
107. Air Force Falcons

Strongest Position: Linebacker
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 119
106. Georgia State Panthers
What You Need To Know: A late push on National Signing Day helps the cause, especially at receiver. The defensive line is solid, but the offensive front will need a push in next year’s class. Overall, the skill players were all but ignored.

2018 Recruiting Ranking: 103
103. Northern Illinois Huskies

Strongest Position: Wide Receiver
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 101
101. Buffalo Bulls

Best Prospect Name You Should Know: RB JD King
Strongest Position: Safety
2018 Recruiting Ranking: 93
99. Wyoming Cowboys
