2019 Cardinals stats countdown: 83 days till season opener

There are now 83 days remaining in our countdown to the beginning of the regular season for the Arizona Cardinals. In 83 days, they will host the Detroit Lions in their 2019 season opener.

What stats in team history can we find for the No. 83?

Two players had 83 career receiving yards for the Cardinals. One was fullback Terrelle Smith, who played for the Cardinals in 2007-2008. The other was end Ray Ebli, who had 83 receiving yards in 1942.

Tight end Jay Novacek, who wound up being one of the best tight ends of the 90s with the Dallas Cowboys, caught 83 passes in his five seasons with the Cardinals from 1985-1959.

Anquan Boldin and J.T. Smith both caught 83 passes in a season. Smith did it in 1988, the Cardinals’ first season in Arizona. Boldin did it in 2006.

Running back LaRod Stephens-Howling had 83 receiving yards in 2009 as a rookie.

Receiver J.J. Nelson had 83 rushing yards in 2016.

The franchise record for longest rush is 83 yards, which John David Crow did in 1958.

We will have more stats tomorrow for the No. 82.
