2019 British Fashion Awards best dressed: Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Rihanna dazzle on the red carpet

The great and the good of the fashion world descended in their droves upon London’s Royal Albert Hall last night for the 2019 British Fashion Awards.

The annual event, which has been a hallmark of the fashion calendar since 1986, saw a stellar turn-out, with Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Julia Roberts among the sartorially on-the-money.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley graced the red carpet wearing a floor-length gold Bottega Veneta gown, which was custom-made for her by the brand's Creative Director, Daniel Lee.

The 32-year-old Devon native is regularly seen donning the brand - her Instagram is populated with images of her with their cult "Pouch" bag and pared-back heels, which have catapulted the Italian house into the spotlight.

This year the brand was nominated for the coveted gong of Brand of the Year, while Lee, personally, was nominated for three: Accessories Designer of the Year, British Womenswear Designer of the Year and Designer of the Year.

Elsewhere, supermodel Naomi Campbell, who was awarded the evening's Icon Award, arrived wearing a breathtaking Alexander McQueen gown, which she accessorised with heels and accessories also by the British fashion house.

The gong of the best dressed attendee, though, goes to Julia Roberts who looked every inch the pretty woman as she arrived on the arm of Giorgio Armani, who was honoured with the prestigious prize for Outstanding Achievement.

Roberts donned a two-piece which was adorned with tiny embellishments and stunning turquoise earrings.

Sarah Burton OBE was also in attendance at the awards, and was honoured with the Trailblazer Award.

The Trailblazer Award was introduced in 2018 and is one of the Special Recognition Awards, celebrating those whose work in the past year has been a game-changer and has significantly shaped the industry.
