2019 BMW X7: Thai pricing and specs

New flagship SUV comes with seven seats and 400hp quad-turbo diesel engine badged M50d.

BMW Thailand has announced pricing for the all-new X7 ahead of a Thai debut at this month’s Bangkok International Motor Show.

The variance chosen for Thailand is the M50d powered by a quad-turbo 3.0-litre diesel producing 400hp and 760Nm of torque. Transmission is via eight-speed automatic.

Priced at 8.999 million baht, BMW’s new flagship SUV comes with seven seats, two-axle air suspension, four-zone climate control and some driver-assist technologies.

The X7’s most immediate rival, the Mercedes-Benz GLS, is not on sale anymore in the country as it has reached the end of its lifecycle in its current generation. The GLS350d once sold for some eight million baht.

Although not direct competitors, the Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC90 have seven-seat packages and are priced lower in the Thai luxury SUV market.

While the Discovery is being offered with just 3.0-litre diesel-turbo, the XC90 has either 2.0-litre diesel-turbo or 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid with plug-in facility to choose from.
