2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational Round 2 Recap: Fleetwood, Bradley share lead; Lefty, Koepka miss cut

Tommy Fleetwood took advantage of Bay Hill’s narrow fairways to post a 66 Friday and take the clubhouse lead at 9-under after 36 holes. He was joined by Keegan Bradley who made his move to earn a share of the lead later in the day.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy moved to two-under overall with a 69.

The story was quite a contrast for the the courageous Phil Mickelson. Playing early Friday, Lefty continued his go-for-broke-style he codified on Thursday. It turned out to be calamitous.

Mickelson made just one birdie, hit one ball out of bounds and another into a water hazard en route to a 78 and all but guaranteed himself an early exit from The City Beautiful. After a 68 on Thursday, Mickelson was +2 overall and missed the cut, along with Brooks Koepka (who finished +3).
