Tottenham Hotspur suffered heartbreak in the Champions League final after losing 2-0 to Liverpool in the first all-English final since 2008.
Mauricio Pochettino's side will now have to go again next term but will find it difficult, as the Reds, Chelsea and Manchester City are all raring to win Europe's biggest prize - as is the rest of the continent.
English football is looking strong after the two European finals were dominated by Premier League sides this season and that is reflected by the odds for the 2019-20 Champions League season, as revealed by Bet365.
Liverpool , having won their sixth European Cup and reaching the final in the past two years, are tipped at 7/1 to defend their title next season, while Barcelona, the side they conquered dramatically in the semi-finals, are second-favourites at 6/1.
Pep Guardiola, having won everything else with City , is priced at 5/1 to bring a first European Cup to the blue half of Manchester, showing they are seen as the favourites.
That is not the case for Tottenham though, despite their impressive performances in Europe this term, as they are priced as 16/1 to win the Champions League and find themselves ranked behind eight other clubs.
The picture is more grim for Europa League winners Chelsea though, who find themselves at 33/1 to win the Champions League for the second time in their history.
