2018-19 ALL-USA High School Softball: Second Team

The ALL-USA High School Softball Team for the 2018-19 season was selected in coordination with Michael Kyllo-Kittleson of Fastpitch News based on high school performance, level of competition and strength of schedule.

Players from states that play in the fall or the spring were eligible for consideration.

<p><strong>School: </strong>West (Salt Lake City)<br/><strong>Position:</strong> 3B/1B<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2019<br/><strong>College:</strong> BYU<br/><strong>Noteworthy: </strong>Avad hit a .699 with 19 home runs and 70 RBI and 60 runs scored in 28 games. She had a .782 on-base percentage and 1.575 slugging percentage, good for an OPS of 2.357. <p><strong>School: </strong>Crisp County (Cordele, Ga.)<br/><strong>Position:</strong> MIF<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2020<br/><strong>College: </strong>Alabama<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> Blampied led the state with 17 home runs and hit 16 doubles while driving home 47 runs and scoring 45. <p><strong>School: </strong>Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, Calif.)<br/><strong>Position: </strong>MIF<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2019<strong></strong><br/><strong>College: </strong>UCLA<br/>Noteworthy: Brady hit 12 home runs with three doubles and triples apiece, drove in 32 RBI and scored 36 runs while hitting .558 – all that in just 24 games and 99 plate appearances. <p><strong>School: </strong>Union County (Lake Butler, Fla.)<br/><strong>Position:</strong> OF<br/><strong>Class: </strong>2020<strong></strong><br/><strong>College:</strong> Florida<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> In 21 games, Cohen scored 25 runs and drove in 24 with three home runs, a pair of triples and four doubles. <p><strong>School:</strong> Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton, Fla.)<br/><strong>Position:</strong> OF<br/><strong>Class: </strong>2020<strong></strong><br/><strong>College: </strong>Auburn<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> Playing left field and pitching in the tough 8A Division in Florida, Davidson hit .439 with a .959 slugging percentage, 13 home runs, a dozen doubles and 47 RBI. <p><strong>School: </strong>Gull Lake (Richland, Mich.)<br /> <strong>Position: </strong>LHP<br /> <strong>Class:</strong> 2019<br /> <strong>College: </strong>Michigan<br /> <strong>Noteworthy:</strong> Entering the district postseason round of eight, Esman had a 20-0 record and 0.45 ERA with 278 strikeouts to just nine walks in 125.2 innings while batting .523 with 11 home<br /> runs, 43 runs scored, 37 RBI and a 1.058 slugging percentage.</p> <p><em>Photo: Light Reveals Photography</em></p>

<p><strong>School: </strong>Grace Brethren High (Simi Valley, Calif.)<br/><strong>Position: </strong>P/UTL<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2020<br/><strong>College:</strong> Arizona<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> In the circle, Fontes had a 0.36 ERA in 136.1 innings, striking out 264 of the 537 batters she faced during the regular. Southwest<br/></p><p><strong>Position:</strong> MIF/C</p><p><strong>Class:</strong> 2019<strong></strong></p><p><strong>College: </strong>Georgia Tech</p><p><strong>Noteworthy: </strong>Kauf hit .570 with 22 home runs, 60 RBI and set the state single-season record with 81 runs scored. <p><strong>School: </strong>Whitney (Rocklin, Calif.)<br/><strong>Position: </strong>OF<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2019<br/><strong>College:</strong> Utah State<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> In the toughest league in northern California, Macfarlane led the Sierra Foothill league in batting average (.533), hits (48), doubles (11), runs (47), on-base percentage (.645) and walks (30). <p><strong>School:</strong> Bohemia Manor (Chesapeake City, Md.)<br/><strong>Position: </strong>RHP<strong></strong><br/><strong>Class: </strong>2020<strong></strong><br/><strong>College:</strong> Auburn<br/><strong>Noteworthy:</strong> Penta put an exclamation point on her season with her championship<br/>performance: a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts. That closed out her 21-0 season with a 0.11 ERA, 299 strikeouts and just 16 hits allowed in 123 innings. <p><em><strong>School:</strong> Tucson Magnet (Ariz.)<br/><strong>Position: </strong>1B/P<br/><strong>Class: </strong>2020<br/><strong>College: </strong>Arizona</em><br/><strong>Noteworthy: </strong>This season, Scupin slashed .683/.783/1.730 – a remarkable OPS of 2.513 -- with 17 home runs, 11 doubles and 41 RBI. and 41 RBI with 11 doubles. <p><strong>School: </strong>Oshkosh (Wis.) North<br/><strong>Position:</strong> LHP<br/><strong>Class:</strong> 2019<br/><strong>College:</strong> Northwestern<br/><strong>Noteworthy: </strong>Supple had 24 of the Spartans’ 26 wins and helped the team go undefeated with her 0.74 ERA, 236 strikeouts and just 11 walks.
