Estimated attendance: Attendance was up 7 percent last year. The 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit drew 815,575 people; the Chicago Auto Show typically ranks first or second in attendance, according to Foresight Research; Detroit ranked fifth in 2015.

Youth movement: 42 percent of attendees are millennials.

Car buyers: 68 percent of attendees surveyed intended to purchase a vehicle within a year of the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, according to Foresight Research.

Time spent: Attendees spent an average 3 hours, 52 minutes at the 2015 show.
