Maybe your fantasy team had a bad Week 1 or your favorite team’s season had an unfortunate injury but fear not, basketball season is just around the corner. We are just about six weeks away from the start of another NBA season and we should be happy about that because eight years ago, we wouldn’t have had much basketball to look towards.
However, the 2011 lockout created some incredible NBA memories, including this flag football game between Kevin Durant and LeBron James in Akron, Ohio. The folks at SLAM Rewind reminded us of that football game, which looks like it was filmed in another era on a hilariously dated USTREAM video.
Luckily, you don’t have to just be limited to the above highlight. You can see most of the game on YouTube, where it’s preserved forever in the weirdness of the 2011 lockout. While we’ll always thank the lockout for moments like this, the fact we don’t have to doubt NBA basketball is tipping off soon is a quite the comfort.
