200 new jobs created in Dublin as G4S opens National Cash Centre

Dublin is set to get a major jobs boost with the opening of a state-of-the-art cash sorting centre in the capital.

Coin processing giants G4S are building a national hub in Dublin, creating 200 new roles.

The 10,000 square metre National Cash Centre will be located in West Dublin.

The new hub will be G4S’s largest facility of its kind across its global network, serving more than 3,000 businesses and financial institutions across Ireland.

The hi-tech centre will consolidate all of G4S’s cash and coin processing in Ireland and has been fitted out with state of the art security systems and a new innovation centre for the expansion of the business.

The centre will employ up to 400 in total and has already provided over 100 jobs in development and construction.

It will open for business next month.

Mayor of South Dublin Mark Ward, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris and Fianna Fail Senator Catherine Ardagh attended the launch on Friday.

MD Damian Young said: “G4S is very proud to unveil this new facility.

"We are continuing to invest in our business in Ireland and committed to further expansion in the years to come.

"This facility will underpin our focus on technology, innovation and automation to maintain our leadership position in providing end to end cash and payment management solutions to Irish businesses and banks.”

Mark Ward added: “I am delighted to preside over the opening of this hugely impressive centre today and I wish G4S, its customers and its employees the very best for the future.

"This facility here in Dublin West will create much needed employment for the local community now and into the future and will be the hub of services for the entire country.”
